Nine Arches Bridge
This wonderful Nine Arches Bridge is located in between the Ella and Demodara train stations. It shows us the marvellous engineering skills of the country. This bridge also called as the Bridge in the Sky and Sri Lankans locally known it as ‘Arukku Navaye Palama’ and this is such a sttunning railway bridge surrounded by lush greenery and tea plantations. The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder P.K Appuhami. It is great spot for photography and people can watch the trains pass over the bridge.
Ravana Falls
Ravana falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Sri Lanka and it currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. The name deserved that place because of that the King Ravana from the Ramayan and also people are believed that this place have been one of the places where Ravana kept Sitha hidden. This Ravana falls is a three tier waterfall and this place is great to visit when in Ella. The best time to visit during April to September because of that this is wet season of the year and waterfall is at its fullest and most spectacular.
Diyaluma Falls
Diyaluma Falls are Sri Lanka’s second highest waterfalls. There are several natural pools along its 220meter fall, and trekkers can take refreshing baths in there.
Ella Railway Station.
The station is establishment in July 1918 and also famous among both local and foreign tourists making it one of the most visited railway stations in Sri Lanka. Most popular ride is Ella to Kandy and offers mesmerizing view of the tea plantation, mountains, waterfalls, old bridge. And also this railway station is a gateway to discovering the natural beauty. And also this train line is often referred to as one of the world’s most beautiful train rides.
Ella Rock
Ella Rock is a place where you can get some dashing panoramic views in Sri Lanka. It’s bit tiring to do the hiking but it is definitely worth it because its echo-liveliness and the calm-countryside atmosphere. Total time for climbing up and down is 4 hours.
Little Adam’s Peak
This is a mini version of Adam’s Peak, a pilgrimage mountain site of central Sri Lanka. The hiketo little Adam’s Peak is easy and it offers stunning panoramic views. The hike is popular for both sunrise and sunset.
