Sigiriya is located in the Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is an ancient rock fortress with a palace on top which was built by King Kashyapa. The gateway for this fortress was built in form of an enormous lion and the name of this palace Sigiria or Sinhagiri is derived from that structure. This is an UNESCO world heritage site and also was nominated as the 8th wonder of world.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress
- This UNESCO world heritage site is consist of a citadel and has ruins of palaces, the Lion Gate, gardens, moats, the Mirror Wall and many ancient paintings on the walls called ”Frescoes”
Sigiriya Museum
- Sigiriya Museum is located at the base of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and it include lot of exhibits as models of the fortress, recreations of the frescoes found at the fort, photographs and informative videos depicting Sigiriya’s histoy.

Minneriya National Park
- Minneriya national Park is a treasure trove of endemic flora and fauna with a rich biodiversity due to the presence of the Minneriya Tank. And it is famous because it is able to witness the largest gatherings of elephants there.
